Viduka heading for Craven Cottage?
Fulham are hoping to net the services of former Newcastle player, Mark Viduka, as they prepare to wage war on two fronts in the 200/2010 football season.
The English club will begin their Premier League campaign with a match against Portsmouth this weekend, before turning their attention to the Europa League.
Viduka is available on a free transfer following the demise of Newcastle last season, and is reported to have met with top brass at Craven Cottage during the week.
His addition to the Fulham squad would be a massive boost for a club that is facing real concern over whether or not it has the resources to compete in Europe whilst simultaneously putting in a strong challenge in the Premier League.
Fulham boss, Roy Hodgson, however, believes that his team has what it takes to weather the toughest season the club has faced in decades.
“It would be foolish of me to say there is no chance of that happening. I think the team are still strong,” Hodgson told The Daily Mail. “We’re even getting stronger if anything. But last year we were extremely lucky with injuries. I don’t know quite whether that will happen to us again.”
