Beckham ‘In Love’ with AC Milan
David Beckham has reportedly fallen in love with temporary home AC Milan since moving to Italy on loan from LA Galaxy.
Beckham, who has played in the midfield for England, Manchester United and Real Madrid, told reporters of his admiration for the Italian club during a press conference at the San Siro.
“I’m joining the most successful club in the world; it’s a fortunate period in my career,” Beckham was quoted as saying on UEFA.com. “Obviously, my favourite team will always be Manchester United. Then I fell in love with Madrid and now I’m starting to fall in love with Milan as well.”
“During my career I have been able to play with the greatest teams in England, Spain and Italy − it’s great. I’m here to work hard and have fun. I don’t want to impose my presence on the team. I know it will be difficult but I’m here to help my team-mates as much as I can.”
Beckham chose to join the Italian club in order to stay fit during the off season and protect his place in the England national team’s midfield. While he has expressed admiration for AC Milan he has also confirmed that he will definitely be returning to Los Angeles in March.
