Managers back Ramos to turn season around
A number of Premiership managers have stepped forward to offer support to embattled Tottenham Hotspur coach, Juande Ramos.
Ramos is presently presiding over the worst start to a season by Spurs since the 1970s, with many believing his head is destined to fall following Spurs’ midweek loss to Udinese in the first round of the UEFA Europa League.
However, several managers who lived through the ups-and-downs of the Premiership believe that Ramos has the skills and players to turn his club’s fortunes around.
“I feel they will be okay,” Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez told The Times. “They have enough experience and I am sure they will finish in the middle of the table. And I believe and expect Ramos to survive there as manager.”
Arsene Wenger, whose Arsenal side has failed to inspire in the Premiership so far this season, believes that Spurs current losing streak is part of the cyclical nature of the game.
“I believe all of the clubs go through difficult periods and the best is that you do not interfere,” Wenger said.
Tottenham Hotspur will have the opportunity to notch up their first Premiership win of the season on Sunday, when they face Bolton at White Hart Lane.
