The teams progressing to the 2008 UEFA Europa League quarterfinals were decided last week as the three finals spots in the quarterfinal draw were taken in the final round of knockout matches.

The final round of matches in the round of 16 for the 2008 UEFA Europa League saw the final English side crash out of the competition. Bolton were defeated 1-0 by Sporting Lisbon at the Estádio José Alvalade, exiting the tournament with a one goal deficit. Only one club from the United Kingdom is left in the competition with Scottish side Rangers flying the British flag with a 2-1 aggregate win over German side Weder Bremen.

The eight remaining teams now proceed to the quarterfinals, where they will participate in a series of home and away, two-legged ties. The first round of matches for the 2008 UEFA Europa League quarterfinals on the 3rd of April reads as follows:

Rangers vs. Sporting Lisbon
Bayern Munich vs. Getafe CF
Fiorentina vs. PSV Eindhoven
